mystery gastropod 11.10.2010

we found this unidentified gastropod at the ty warner sea center last sunday, maybe it's a bubble shell? I took these pictures with a camera connected to a microscope. these pictures are of its underside. the orange part with spots is the foot, the brown area is the mantle and you can see the sensory tentacles in one of the pictures.

this photo makes me love my new (cheap!) lens with the f/1.8. I was on my way to being drunk but still managed to take this photo. I love the depth of field in it, it looks like a dream.

today I learned that if you flip the lens backwards, you can take super macro shots with a super shallow depth of field:
